This story begins at the bottom of a swimming pool after a life-altering accident left Ed paralysed from the neck down. His remarkable recovery bringing him serendipidously together with co-founder Olly and from here, through the creation of Ed's charity Millimetres 2 Mountains in 2018 a bond was formed that would pave the way for the Vapoura of today.
In the years that followed, that same spirit of resilience and curiosity sparked a new idea. Frustrated by the gap between globally celebrated spirits and what was being produced at home, they set out to create something of their own, driven by a shared love of rum and a desire to explore its provenance through a distinctly English lens.
What followed was a commitment to building a luxury rum brand from the ground up with every stage of the process carried out here in England. No shortcuts, no white labelling and no compromises. Just a dedication to craft and authenticity.
Named after a moth native to England, a symbol of transformation, Vapoura represents a new chapter. A rum that honours tradition while reimagining it, bringing a contemporary perspective to one of the world’s oldest spirits and telling a story of resilience, reinvention, and ambition.
